Packed a lot in?

Today was not a day for much writing, as I was in the midst of a second shipment of packing cartons being unloaded and checking off items from a container. So much of your life is reflected in possessions, and when they are laid bare, or simply laid out, as packed items, they can tell some interesting stories.

A lot of reminiscences come from simply seeing the accumulation of possessions. But for today, I going to let my mind dwell on the image of life as laid out in empty packing boxes. I will also think about how luck is so important. Imagine: one crystal stem flute, put into a box with no wrapping, manages to be sent on a boat in a container and come out intact. Careless packing, for sure, but someone was looking out for that glass. It could and can easily be broken just in its regular daily use. Every mouthful of Champagne drunk from the flute should be cherished. Like life itself.
